Fengyi (Freda) Guo
Freda Guo is a radar aeroecologist and conservation biologist focusing on solutions-oriented research. She studies the stopover ecology and conservation of migratory landbirds in North America, a critical missing piece in the full annual cycle conservation of migratory landbirds. Using weather radar data, she is identifying key stopover hotspots and habitats during the en‑route migration period, reconstructing long‑term population trends, and quantifying the global change impacts. In collaboration with the USDA- Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), she is developing science‑based conservation strategies to protect and restore essential stopover habitats for migratory landbirds in North America.
