Cecilia Nilsson

Cecilia Nilsson is a behavioral ecologist working with the flight behavior of animals, animal migration, and radar aeroecology. She currently works at Lund University, studying large scale patterns of flight behavior. Her current work focuses on using radars to monitor the aerial habitat, differences between migration systems, bird movements in extreme conditions, and the conflicts that arise when animals and humans share aerial habitat. During 2018 and 2019 she worked in the BirdCast project, extracting and analyzing bird movement data from the US weather radar network, working with eBird data and investigating continental scale patterns of bird migration and flight behavior.
